No more wind (for a couple of days), just another Polar Vortex attack . . oh, and snow, lots and lots of snow

Fun gig last night . . played a (sorta charity) gig for fallen police officers. These guys do an annual ride (bikes) as well as this fund raiser.
Lots of swag to silent bid on - I didn't wine the tools set or the grill :( , the only two I bid on, but we did make money for them. :)

One of the rides they're doing this year is in England somewhere - they weren't even sure. They said from England to England  . . They're also doing another to Washington DC.
Interesting how many officer have tats - lots and lots of ink. One the things you could bid on was a tattoo . . . 8-)

Now we get to repeat the process next week for Shawn's cousin that had a debilitating stroke. We've already had a 5K offer on a John Mayer signed Tele and a 1K for a singed (Squire) Strat - signed by no less than our band - who knew we were so liked.

Then in two weeks comes our annual St. Patty's Day marathon - start at noon and work till 1 in the morning.
That and getting ready to retire from the band has me melancholy . . ready to move, but will miss the band and the things we get to do for others.

Hope all is well with youz guys . :?:

Glad to hear of your successful gigs, Melvin! :D Our next one will be on March 15th at the local craft brewery. Nice place and the show October last year was great - hope this one will be a good one, too.

Here's a pic of the room:

Some melancholy here as well: our keyboarder will be moving away late this year - pretty sad about it as he's a friend of mine as well and won't be seeing each other as much as we used to. 'nother thing is that we used to have our rehearsal space in the basement of his home.
We already found another place but that means paying some bucks every month.
We will try to go on first as a two-guitar driven band (will have to change some of the repertoire) while looking for a replacement. Since we all get along so well it's not just a matter of musicianship but of personal relation, too.
Well, we'll see..... ;)

Looks like a very cool room Tom - I assume that's your stage with the slight raise? 8-)
It always astounds me when I see older buildings from Europe, since we really don't have any. Though that brewery could be a newer build, it has that old world charm.

Your keyboardist is leaving and that's exactly who Shawn wants to replace me with - he isn't moving to Michigan by chance?
I've been the defacto keyboard player since adding a third guitarist playing an EH B9 - certainly not all the time, but when a song warrants it.

We've been lucky in three ways as far as practice goes - our Bass player has a small (and I do mean small) studio in his backyard as well as our basement has been set up for rehearsal - the third . . . . we never practice.

The new digs will have plenty of room for me to set up a full band room. I bought drums 15 years ago and trust me - I can't play.
Amen to getting along - relationships mean far more in the long run. I just posted a band set for the 80's on Facebook that I found cleaning and sorting out the basement. Looks like we haven't learned a thing - still play a lot of the songs - We're OLD. :geek:

It's Back - Man, will winter ever give up it's hold on us?
Brutal, Weekend we'll only be about 5 degrees below where we should be this time of year.

Amazing stuff you're listening to, VIN!

We're having a bit of a colder spell for a change - even snowed a tiny bit on sunday but not as bad as you seem to have it, Melvin!
